Best Cinematographer in Seoul, Korea

Mike Beech is a director, cinematographer, editor, camera operator, drone pilot, and videographer in Korea. He has worked in various genres including documentaries, high-end TVCs, fashion, drama, music videos, broadcast television, travel, corporate and charity projects.



Mike has always had a deep passion for cinema and a fondness for visual art. From the first photo he took in his youth on a homemade pinhole camera to shooting feature-length films on a Red, he has always found inspiration and peace in images.

His filmmaking profession has allowed him to shoot in over 25 countries worldwide, but most of his work takes place in the Middle East and South Korea. 

In 2022, Mike wrote and directed his first fiction feature ‘Mother Midnight’ (Korean title: 서까래) which is presently beginning its festival run. Mike is now based in Seoul, South Korea.

One of the things he loves about being an independent videographer is the variety of work you find yourself doing, one day you are working as a cameraman in Seoul and films and another you will be flying a drone through the peaks of the Atlas mountains.

Mike Beech was the cinematographer on the Seoul episode of the Netflix Original Series: Midnight Asia. Nighttime brings out the most playful side of Asia's metropolises. The docuseries captures the food, drink, music, and night owls who shine in the dark. He is also known as the best music video maker in Seoul.

Jiwon Lee and Mike Beech are the co-founders of the Seoul-based production company, Moktan. Created on May 2021, Moktan has grown exponentially and quickly garnered a portfolio of top clients internationally and within Korea.
